4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.5 Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. 6 Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
As I write this, Hurricane Florence is bearing down on the coast of the US, we just remembered the worst attack on the US and more locally a tragedy in our local schools. So much challenge in our lives. Most of us have some challenge as we move through our daily lives. Many of our youth are transitioning from one school to another – middle school to high school or high school to college or starting preschool. So much struggle, it seems overwhelming. So we look for words of hope and encouragement in the scriptures. Check out the words above from Philippians. Read a stanza from the song “Strong Enough” by Matthew West (I encourage you to listen to the full song):
You are God and
You are strong when
I am weak
In the song, the verse Philippians 4:13 is referenced that is familiar to many: I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
So whatever your struggle, worry, pain or challenge. Remember to take a breath, talk to God and let God shoulder the load. God is strong enough! God loves you more than enough!
Be blessed today and every day!
