Here is the message that appeared in the June/July Newsletter! From Linda’s Desk:
It’s been a whirlwind couple of months at Mount Calvary for both the congregation and
myself. And I am reminded of Jesus’ words, “I was a stranger and you welcomed me” from Matthew’s gospel. And that is exactly how you’ve welcomed my family and me! It has been so humbling to see how you’ve made a place for me to learn about how Mount Calvary does things, who the people of Mount Calvary are and how the Holy Spirit is at work at Mount Calvary. And the Holy Spirit is alive here!
For those I have yet to meet: I live in South Lyon (yes, a whooping 40 miles away) with my husband, Dave, and two sons, Evan (18) and Erik (17). Many of you have had a chance to meet one or both boys as they frequently accompany me to church. Evan will be attending Heidelberg University in the fall. Erik will be a senior at Ann Arbor Academy.
My assignment at Mount Calvary is in conjunction with my studies at Ecumenical Theological Seminary (ETS). Bishop Kreiss has given me his blessing to be the clergy presence at Mount Calvary. That is why sometimes you hear or see Minister Linda and sometimes you hear or see Pastor Linda and sometimes-plain Linda. Whatever the title, it is my extreme privilege and honor to be a part of your community. A community alive in service and spirit! I look forward to how wewill grow together.
In Christ’s Love,
